Your Health is Your Greatest Wealth…

It’s an Investment in Yourself

The Band-Aid does not heal the cut.   We all know this at some level.  The body has some kind of life force in it that heals the cut.  And if we keep the Band-Aid on too long, Mom tells us to remove it so the air can hit it and it will heal better.  

 

And if we have the Band-Aid on too tight and never take it off, our finger can actually loose circulation and eventually fall off.  However, in reality many of us could not endure the pain to get to the point of the finger falling off. 

 

So, when we go to make an investment in our health or the ultimate investment in ourselves, where to we go and what should we look for in someone who can help us. 

 

The interesting thing is that most people put off going for help with their health until they cannot endure the pain any more.   And most people spend more money on their car maintenance and pets than on themselves.

 

“I am in pain and feel miserable, but I don’t have health insurance that will pay for it, so I will just have to live with it.”   Unless it is an emergency or the pain is just too much to bear, people are very reluctant to spend money on their health.

 

Yet as my mother used to say to me,  “George when it comes to your health you can not be cheap.”  If you had a million dollars and could not get out of the chair because you were too sick, what good would the money be?”

 

Many of us have also heard the saying,“If you have your health you have everything.”

 

If you cut your hand off or someone does it for you, you are definitely going to go to the hospital and have it put back on.   But, if you have had a Headache for six months straight, that comes on in the morning and lasts the whole day, every day, you might not go seek help for this headache; especially, if you can just take enough painkillers to reduce your level of pain.   

 

The problem with taking painkillers is that your liver has to process and get rid of them through the kidneys and if you take too much you will wear out your liver and kidneys.

 

What do you do when the medications stop working and the conventional doctor says, “I am sorry we have tried everything to help you, you will just have to try and live with it.”

 

I would recommend you seek out a natural practitioner who recognizes that the Band-Aid does not heal the cut and that his or her job is not to fix you, but to set up the right conditions so your body can heal itself.  

    

Go to a practitioner or doctor who understands that you have more than just a physical body.   You also have a mind, emotions and thoughts.  And keep in mind that what you speak and think about you bring about.

 

Negative emotions, words and thoughts indicate that you are holding resistance.   And what you resist persists and keeps coming back.   

 

Can dwelling on negative thoughts over a period of time make a person sick? (You can all answer this question.)

 

Find someone who uses an integrative approach and is trained in all the natural disciplines, not just one of them.   Because we are made up of 70 trillion cells all communicating together.

 

For example, some one with neck pain, could have slept funny, could have injured it some way physically, but could really have the pain in the neck because they have a boss that yells and screams at them every day at work.    

 

The stomach meridian in acupuncture is an energy pathway that runs up to the neck.  And acupuncturists believe that every cell has a brain.   The stomach digest food, but it also has to digest life, people, etc.   It is also considered to be the judge.

 

I had a client with neck problems for over two years. She also has a whole list of other problems.   After doing every procedure and type of treatment I knew on her she finally said to me after being a client for over two years, I am very happy with what you have done for me since I have been coming to see you.  My headaches are gone, my thyroid is fine now, my lower back pain is gone and I am almost completely well.  But, when is the pain in my neck going to go away? 

 

I told her, “your neck pain will go away when your husband starts being nicer to you.”   She laughed and said, “your right he is a real pain in the neck.”

 

I knew this because in the two years she had been coming to see me, that is all she talked about.   And at that time many years ago, I was into just treating the physical body, the spine as a chiropractor.       

 

Today, after over twelve years sitting at the table with clients I know the Mind is the biggest factor to why someone has something wrong with them.  

 

Nobody fixes anyone.   We all fix ourselves, when we are ready to take responsibility for doing it.   If you believe the doctor or the machine he or she is using on you is fixing you then you become a victim and give all your power to the doctor. 

 

You may get relief from the machine or the pill or the procedure, but ultimately if you do not recognize the negative thinking behind it all, the problem will come back again.   

 

Your body heals itself when you are ready to let go and allow it to happen.  And it does not happen any other way.  

 

We as human beings are more powerful than we give ourselves credit for and the Power

Of our own Minds is what even scientists are starting to prove. Awareness is health and knowing how to tap into your own Secret Power; the power of your intuition, your subconscious mind.

 



Exercise in Moderation and Build Up Slowly but Surely
Step by Step - Less is More!  
(Some Guidelines for Conventional Exercise)

Like many valuable practices, exercise has its points of diminishing returns. When jogging was a national fad, thousands of people – some experts say many of the serious joggers – suffered such side effects as splintered shinbones and broken ankles.  Excessive exercise can have a variety of more severe health consequences.   Exercise can give strength but it exacts costs if not properly moderated.

 

While research on exercise gives conflicting results, it appears to support the view that too much exercise can be almost as harmful as too little.  Exercise should be practiced daily in moderation.   What, however, constitutes moderation?  If one key to good health is to get neither too little nor too much exercise, how does one determine the right amount?   Western medical experts often suggest exercising 70% to 80% of maximum heart rate.

 

However, a wiser approach using common sense and a knowledge of energy medicine, says when one starts to sweat profusely, or when breathing begins to be heavy or labored so that one has to breathe through the mouth, that is the time to stop exercising.  This amount of exercise, which is understood to be 50% of capacity, is balanced and ideal for health.

 

If this seems to differ from Western medical advice, it is because Energy Medicine experts want exercise to accomplish something more than just to strengthen muscles and the cardiovascular system.   In Energy medicine the key to health is maintaining the whole physiology’s overall internal balance.

 

The idea of moderation is in accord with recent scientific understandings of exercise.  By this view, one reason that exercise is beneficial is that it can increase the number and size of the mitochondria – the power generators of the cells- and the activity of their oxidative enzymes.  The extra mitochondria prepare the body for situations in which it is suddenly required to perform something like full capacity.  This is valuable because sudden exertion, for those who lack the extra mitochondria, will cause the cells to produce excessive free radicals.  A major health benefit of being in shape, then, is that it reduces the amount of free radicals formed during exertion, and might there-by slow the aging process.

 

But free radicals also give us reason to not push the upper limits of stamina when exercising.  Straining at exercise, which happens if we exercise to 100% or even 80% of capacity, accelerates metabolic processes, which at these levels generates excess free radicals even when one is ‘in shape’.  The result damages the system as a whole, even if it strengthens one particular group.

 

For this reason I recommend moderation, through exercising to 50% of capacity.  When I say ‘capacity’ I mean something different from ‘maximum pulse rate’: capacity is the maximum one can do.  For example, if a person can run 6 miles, 50% means running 3 miles daily at the same speed; if one can swim 12 laps, 50% means 6 laps daily.  This may seem a small amount to those used to working out, but it is more strengthening that it seems.  As one continues to exercise daily, one’s capacity will increase.   Also, because it does not strain the system, one can exercise every day without damaging one self and I do recommend exercising daily. By contrast, many challenging exercise programs, which strain physiology, should be done three times a week, because the body needs time to recuperate afterwards.

 

Again, the 50% point is reached when one is perspiring significantly on the forehead or underarms, or when one needs to breathe hard through the mouth.  When one exercises, one should choose a pace that leaves one at a degree of exertion just before that 50% point – though the breathing and heart rate should definitely be accelerated.  One should maintain that pace until the 50% point is about to be exceeded or until one is starting to become fatigued.  At that point, one should stop.

 

The 50% principle produces an immediate benefit: one feels better when one finishes exercising.   Exhaustion during or after exercise is an indication of strain and imbalance.  By contrast, exercising to 50% leaves one feeling exhilarated and enlivened, not spent.  For that reason, this kind of exercise program is self-reinforcing.  One of the disadvantages of over-strenuous exercise is the high dropout rate.  Since people tend to not follow through, they lose the long-term benefits of exercise.  Because the Energy medicine approach (the moderate approach) makes exercise more enjoyable, natural, and not a strain, people have been more inclined to continue with it daily (this is especially true of middle-aged and older people).

 

This advice of course does not apply to professional athletes, who have to work hard to excel at what they do.  

 

Suggested exercises include brisk walking, moderate cross-country skiing, swimming, bicycling, weight lifting, tennis and racquetball.  Remember walking is an excellent exercise for almost anyone.

 

I consider morning the best time for physical exercise; the period from sunrise to 10am is preferred.   Afternoon is acceptable.  The evening is not considered a good time for strenuous exercise, since it is too close to bedtime, although a walk after dinner is considered health promoting.

 

The idea of daily exercise applies except during an acute illness or, for women, during the monthly period and during pre- and post-partum periods.  It is also important not to exercise too near mealtime.  After eating a large meal, one should wait at least 2 hours before exercising (one hour will do for a snack or light meal).


Releasing our Resistances with Love & Enthusiasm…

Regardless of the circumstances in life you have to face, it is important to learn to “Lovingly and Willingly Endure” all things with no conditions and no expectations and with Enthusiasm.   If you have expectations there will be times when you will be disappointed.  But, if you have no expectations, you will never be disappointed no matter what challenges you face.

 

You will learn to have no conditions in life.   If you have no conditions, you put on other people or things or yourself, you will never get upset.

 

Take each moment in turn, do the best you can and leave for tomorrow what you can’t get done today. 

 

Be sure to get your rest and use wisdom in the conduct of your life.

 

Finally, take the position of “Whatever.”

 

“Just Say Whatever,” and that way you never get upset, hurt, or bent out of shape.

 

It is what it is… 

 

Learn to Lovingly and Enthusiastically Embrace every moment and endure all the experiences of Life.   One must be constantly aware of that which is transpiring in one’s life and to look for the lesson to be learned from the universe as you patiently experience each activity of life with non-resistance and with the spirit of unlimited gratitude.

 

One must learn to release all patterns of resistances such as old grudges and hard feelings with unconditional love and unconditional forgiveness.  Knowing that for the most part, people do what they are programmed to do and have very little free agency to overcome this programming.  We are all products of our environments.

 

Once we understand this we can freely forgive people for what they have done because in essence, they really do not have a clear perception as to why they do what they do.

 

Jesus understood this when he said, “Forgive them, for they know not what they do.” For the most part we are all creatures of reaction and are delightful deviations from the norm.

 

Let us all delight in the unity of diversity, as we would enjoy the variety of flowers in a garden.

 

It is always appropriate that we all be reminded that one must never allow judgment, criticism, or condemnation to enter one’s mind toward any person, place or thing. 

 

We must learn that what we resist in life will be drawn to us with computer like precision.  “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”, can be looked upon as an absolute law.

If we inspect carefully are inner thoughts, putting all self-justification aside for how we act or react, we will find within ourselves the very faults which we are so quick to see in others.

 

The faults we see in others which attract our attention should be an immediate signal to go inside and search for the error in our own thinking.   This is appropriate instruction for everyone.

 

Without question, it is, at first, a difficult job to apply this instruction; yet, it is far better to be the master of one’s self then to conquer the enemy on the battlefield of war.

Which means we have to start feeling again - and when we are in doubt about what to do ask the question, “What would Love do

now?”



As Above so Below… as Within so Without

(Insights about Health and Your Body)

The underlined words you see above are the words carved into the famous ‘Emerald Tablet’ in Egypt.  In fact, they make up the second line and were supposed to be left by Socrates and Plato.

To me they mean that the body is a whole unit and not made up of parts. Science has now proved that the human body is amazing and made up of 70 Trillion or so cells all communicating with each other.

 

So, we are not really one unit, but a colony of seventy trillion or so cells.  (Now that is kind of Mind Blowing!)

Let’s consider the concept that cells are holograms of the whole body to which they contribute.   You could then say that each cell in your body is a mini-you, or in Austin Power’s terminology, “a mini me.”
   

 

And inside each cell you have DNA.  The DNA has a blue print in each cell to make another you.   From a Quantum physics standpoint, that means that each cell has a complete version of you, your entire body, within it.  There is a heart, brain, organs, endocrines, eyes, ears, etc, etc., inside every single cell.

 

We think we can figure out the wisdom that runs the human body even when one cell, that measures one thousandth of an inch across, contains in its DNA, enough information to fill approximately 1000 text books that are each 600 pages long.  Now multiply that by seventy trillion! 

Now let us consider the complex and incredible process of digestion.
  When you eat, the food is chewed up and salivary enzymes are released. Then the food goes down the esophagus to the stomach.

Next the food is hit by gastric juice in the stomach, which is many times more acidic than the strongest hydrochloric acid. 

From there, the right pancreatic enzymes have to be released into the stomach and of course the gallbladder has to fire the exact amount of bile into the stomach in order for the bile to breakdown the fats.  If all that is just right, finally, the pyloric value, located at the bottom of the stomach has to open, so the food can pass into the small intestine, where the nutrients can be absorbed.  And remember I am grossly over simplifying the process with my description so you can get the general idea.

 

The walls of the stomach are made out of tough tissue that can handle the strong acid from the gastric juice, however the walls of the small intestine are made out of tissue that is fine and delicate and will not handle acid. 

 

So, when you eat food, if you are not healthy enough and do not have all the necessary building blocks available, the pyloric valve never opens and absorption of the vital nutrients does not take place.

 

The necessary building blocks being the minerals that are no longer in the soil our food is grown in.  The soil is depleted.  Everyone knows this. You also need the necessary enzymes, which are Amylase, Lipase and Protease. These enzymes break down your food, so it can be eliminated properly.

 

When you heat up food to 106 degrees a little above room temperature, the necessary enzymes are destroyed completely.

 

So, now what do a lot of people do, they try to supplement for parts of the digestive system.  Also, most supplements are not natural, so they go to the stomach first and get hit by gastric juice, which destroys them. 

 

If the body is a symphony made up of seventy trillion cells, how do you look at parts of the body and take something just for that part? 

 

For instance, if you have a thyroid issue, you take supplements or medication just for the thyroid.   What about for the rest of the whole body, mind and spirit complex that makes up the human body that is interacting with the Thyroid?   Everything is in synchronicity with everything else all working together.

  

Taking medication and supplements to solve parts of the body that are having issues is really like shooting in the dark and trying to hit your target.   You are fooling yourself if you think it is going to work and correct the problem.

 

The answer is to find a complete whole food with everything in it.   And have it made properly and energetically (with high vibration) so that one half teaspoon at each meal would be all you needed three times per day; once at each meal.  

 

Then you could eat everything else in moderation and you would be healthy.   This technology is ahead of its time.  It has been developed and is available to people who are reading this article.

Our bodies compensate and we really do not realize this.  But, essentially, many people are severely dehydrated.  

 

In fact, most chronic symptoms and health issues have a lot to do with the person having some level of dehydration.  Diseases like Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Asthma, Depression, and Diabetes are all really caused by dehydration. 

 

Also, the people you know who drink large quantities of water are always running to the bathroom and are putting tremendous pressure on their kidneys - many of them are carrying their big jugs of water with them.

 

This can contribute to creating a Diabetic situation if they are not careful.  

 

My friend the ex-nuclear physicist from California Institute of Technology has also come up with a way, using seeding minerals and distilled water and a Hi-Tech, converted blender to make real water again. 

 

I am fortunate to have known him for two years now and have been drinking this   “Special” water, as my five year old refers to it, and taking the Liquefied Barley Grass Juice. 

 

I have lost three inches in my waist, I have energy to burn and my level of health is much better.

I Want Answers!  What Does it take to Make Life Work?

Are you asking the above question?   Many people are and the problem is we have lost our ability to feel.

 

We live in a faced pace technological world that is dominated by television, computers and marketing.   Our eyes are bombarded and we have lost our ability to feel.   Most of us are unconscious or numb.

 

The most common form of communication is through feeling. Feeling is the language of the soul!  

 

If you want to know what is true for you about something; look to how you feel about it.

 

How do we learn to feel again?  This is a good question.  But, the answer is much simpler than you ever imagined.

 

If we put a blindfold on and went through life without our sense of sight we would really get our feeling back.   And of all the five senses, the felt sense or sense of touch is the one that tells us that we exist in the world.   Without the sense of touch we could not be alive. 

 

Helen Keller had the sense of touch even though she lost her other senses through her life. However, she had to have her sense of touch.

 

Short of putting on a blindfold, the way to be in the world but not of the world is to quiet or still your mind and to become aware of the energy of every cell in your body.   Our incredibly powerful bodies are made up of 60 to 70 trillion cells all working together.

 

And even one cell, that measures one thousandth of an inch across, contains in its DNA enough information to fill approximately 1000 textbooks that are each 600 pages long!

Say the mantra, “I am I” over and over again in your mind.   It has the effect of blocking all other thoughts.  Now close your eyes and have the intention of feeling the energy in your hands.  Then feel the energy in both feet and keep going until you can feel the energy of every cell, your whole body.  This is your true essence, this is who and what you really are. You are one big energy field. In fact, quantum physics says that the universe is just one big field of energy or quantum field.

 

Now, this feeling of your whole body is subtle.  You will not get an amazing Stephen Spielberg like effect.   And if you have to have special effects to be enthusiastic and not bored than you may not like this procedure at first.    Stay with it anyway.   

 

When you open your eyes keep repeating the phrase “I am I” slightly and keep your body awareness going, feeling the energy of every cell.  Do this throughout your entire day.  This is the equivalent of meditating with your eyes open.  

 

And then you do not do anything by thinking about it.  You let your body move by itself without you thinking about moving.

This puts you in the present moment.  This is when you begin to stop thinking about what someone did to you in the past and you stop worrying about what you need to do in the future.  

 

This exercise will be relaxing at first, but after a while, because you have been in a habit of thinking in the past or the future for most of your life, your ego, the 10% of our brains that most of use (the 90% of the rest of the brain stays dormant) will go crazy and you will start to have past thoughts you thought you got over coming back to you.  

 

Just stay in the moment, repeat the mantra “I am I” and keep aware of the energy of all your cells (your body awareness) and be with the past thoughts.   They will ease and dissolve.  Some times quickly, but some times it will take a few hours of bringing them into your awareness and feeling them.  

 

When they finally go away they may come back and it does not mean that they are boomeranging back to you.  It means you have expanded your awareness by observing them and that you may just have to keep observing -   especially, if this is an issue that you have been dealing with your whole life.   

 

So, you have to take responsibility and stick with this procedure and do it day in and day out.  After a period of time you will find a peace that keeps expanding and life will be more like Heaven than the Hell you thought it was.  

 

Remember nothing works one time or instantly, but this procedure it simple and easy and will set you free if you stick with it.  

 

Have you ever seen a perfect moment in time?  When time seemed to stop and you could almost live in that moment forever - for example watching a perfect sunset with our significant other.  

 

A single moment in time can be a universe to itself.  Unfortunately, most people are not aware enough of the “Now” to even notice.


What is the Priority?

When we go into a restaurant and sit down and look at the menu, how do we know which selection of food is the best for our body.  Or how to we know which one is the priority?

 

If we think about it, we may select the item that we like the best, or the one we enjoy eating on a regular basis.     But, it may not be the best food for us.

 

How do you know if a meal you just ate is good for you?   Well after you eat you have a sense of well-being and feel your energy increased afterwards.   How do you know a meal is bad for you?  After you eat you get gas, or feel sick or have some sort of not so pleasant after effect.  

 

Wouldn’t it be great if we could access the wisdom of our body and let it determine without us directly thinking about it which selection is the absolute best or the priority.

 

One-way to do this is to stop thinking and quiet your mind.  Then say to yourself – “I am going to go through each selection on the menu without thinking quickly and when I get to the right selection I will stop on it and not be able to move on”.

 

If that is too much of a stretch, you can take the tip of your thumb and your index finger and gently put them together.   And as you go thru each selection on the menu you can ask silently in your mind, “Is this the Priority?”. When you ask this put both finger tips together and press gently.  

 

 A “No” answer will be when the finger tips stick and don’t move and a “Yes” answer will be when your finger tips slide or slip away from each other.  

 

This form of muscle reactivity test will serve as a way to access or tap into your own Secret Power.   Your Secret Power is your subconscious mind/your intuition.   

 

This gives you a system or training wheels to start developing your ability to access your intuition.   This is the same intuition that so called psychic and medical intuitives use.   

 

We all have this ability, but most of us don’t use it and have not developed the mental muscle yet.  The reason is that we are too busy thinking about the past and what some one did to us, or we are too busy worrying about what we need to do in the future to quiet our minds and use our intuition. 

 

 Our minds never stop over thinking.

 

We have to learn to quiet our minds or actually turn them off.

 

So, you start using this system of sort of snapping your fingers and asking, “Is this a Priority?”  And with the menu, you will select things you never thought you would eat and will be pleasantly surprised.   What you believed was not good for you gives you a better sense of well being than what you were eating before.  

 

You will find if you go with your intuition and let it decide what you need to eat as the Priority you will always get a sense of well being after every meal.

 

Some of you will start having trouble with your “Yes” answers and your “No” answers.  They might not be clear.   This means that you are not trusting yourself and not trusting your answers.    

 

This is a big issue for many people.  You are thinking too much and trying to control it, instead of allowing it to happen.

 

If this happens, you simply say to yourself, “Ok, I am ready to trust my answers now. Inner Self, give me a ‘Yes’ that is so obvious I cannot miss it.  And do the same thing for a “No” answer” and proceed, realizing that these answers are coming from your inner true self.  

 

 Ask simple questions you already know the answer to. For example, I have brown hair and use your fingers to get your Yes’s and No’s for practice.

 

You can use this system when you are unsure about buying something, for example in the bookstore, while cooking, grocery shopping and even on the golf course to select which club to hit. 

 

Have fun with it and use it every chance you get and you will be amazed at how it changes your life by getting you more into the present moment or “the Now.” 

You also become much better at making decisions. 

 

After a while you will be able to ask the questions silently and you will get a feeling of Yes or No without having to use your fingers.     

 

Also, you will get in the habit of asking questions again.  Most of us are used to being given information and have forgotten how to ask questions. That is how most of us went through school. We were lectured to and spit back the information on a multiple-choice test.

 

In the days of Socrates, students were given material or homework and then when they came back to class, Socrates would sit quietly and not speak until he heard the right questions.   Some times Socrates would not speak at all during the class because the questions that were asked were not the right ones.

 

After you have made your ‘Things to Do List’ for the day, you can check it with our system of Priority as well.

 

With my clients in private practice I used it to determine what tool to use and the exact sequence of treatment.   I never treated anyone the same way and in the same sequence and my results soared.   

 

Most doctors or practitioners are trying to fix their clients and doing what they believe in and not what is the priority for the client and most are only working with their clients on the physical level not on the emotional level.

 

We all ultimately have to heal ourselves and take responsibility for it.
